Обзор продукта
Loctite 4014 is a one-part, very low-viscosity instant adhesive formulated for precise assemblies—especially where parts fit closely or require minimal adhesive bleed-out. Tested to ISO 10993 protocols, it is suited for disposable medical devices and other demanding applications. With rapid room-temperature bonding and compatibility with difficult-to-bond substrates (with primer), it delivers strong adhesion to plastics, rubbers and metals.
Основные преимущества:
-
Very low viscosity – excellent for tight, controlled bonding of parts
-
Fast fixture time (~10-30 seconds) for efficient assembly
-
Medical-grade certification – tested to ISO 10993 standards
-
Compatible with plastics, rubbers and metals; with primer LOCTITE® SF 7701 for polyolefins
-
Transparent/clear cured appearance – ideal for aesthetic or visible joins
Инструкции по применению
Шаг 1 - Подготовка поверхности: Clean and degrease surfaces thoroughly (e.g., using LOCTITE® SF 7070). Remove any old adhesive or contaminants.
Step 2 – Primer (if required): For low-surface-energy plastics (PP/PE/PTFE), apply LOCTITE® SF 7701 primer before adhesive.
Шаг 3 - Применение: Apply a small amount of Loctite 4014 to one surface—keep the layer thin for optimal cure.
Шаг 4 - Сборка: Join the parts immediately after application. The very fast fixture time means accurate placement is key.
Step 5 – Curing / Handling: Initial bond develops within seconds; full strength achieved over 24 h under ambient conditions.
Step 6 – Disassembly / Repair: If removal is needed, consult the product’s TDS for recommended methods. Some cyanoacrylate bonds can be softened by heat or appropriate solvents.
Советы:
-
Use minimal adhesive to avoid excess bleed or stress.
-
Ensure parts remain stationary during initial fixture to avoid misalignment.
-
For medical device or critical applications, ensure compliance with relevant regulatory standards.
Часто задаваемые вопросы
Q1: Is Loctite 4014 suitable for use on polyolefins like PP or PE?
A1: Yes – but for PP/PE/PTFE you should use primer LOCTITE® SF 7701 to promote bonding.
Q2: What is the typical fixture time?
A2: Around 10 to 30 seconds under room-temperature conditions on standard substrates.
Q3: Is this adhesive certified for medical device use?
A3: Yes. Loctite 4014 is medical-device grade and tested according to ISO 10993.
Q4: What gap size can the adhesive fill?
A4: Up to approximately 0.15 mm (0.006″), though performance depends on substrate and conditions.
Q5: What substrate materials can it bond?
A5: It can bond plastics, rubbers and metals; for some difficult plastics a primer is recommended.
