Product Overview

The LOCTITE RC32 Automatic Reservoir is a modular reservoir unit designed to integrate with LOCTITE dispense controllers and valves for semi- or fully-automated adhesive application. It allows direct use of original adhesive packages (250 mL to 2 kg bottles or 200 g tubes) and supplies steady pressure to the dispensing valve through a controlled pneumatic feed. The reservoir features a low-level sensor alarm, integrated solenoid vent valve, and is engineered for reliable flow and minimal downtime in high-throughput production lines.

Key Features & Benefits

  • Broad package compatibility: Supports 250 mL up to 2 kg bottles and 200 g squeeze tubes, enabling flexibility in adhesive choice and pack size.

  • Low-level sensor & alarm: Provides automatic warning when adhesive supply nears depletion, helping avoid unexpected production stops.

  • Modular design: Adds easily into existing semi- or fully-automatic dispensing systems by combining with LOCTITE controllers and valves.

  • Pressurised reservoir feed: Ensures consistent adhesive delivery to valves/applicators, reducing variation in dispense results.

  • Cost-effective automation support: Provides “just the reservoir” component at a lower cost entry point into automated adhesive dispensing.

Application

  1. Installation: Mount the RC32 unit on a stable platform. Connect the regulated pneumatic supply and electrical connector. Ensure feed tubing is clean and suitably routed.

  2. Loading Adhesive: Insert the adhesive bottle/tube into the bottle holder, ensure the lowlevel sensor is engaged, attach feed tube and close the lid.

  3. Pressurising & Integration: Using a compatible LOCTITE controller (e.g., 97102, 97152, RC15), switch the reservoir to active mode so that the system pressurises the adhesive feed.

  4. Operation: The reservoir will feed adhesive under pressure to the dispensing valve or applicator. The low-level alarm will activate when supply is low, signalling the need for replacement before air ingress.

  5. Maintenance & Shutdown: Before longer idle periods, depressurise the reservoir, relieve lines and purge adhesive if recommended. Clean and inspect O-rings, tubing and feed lines.

Tips:

  • Keep feed tubing as short as practical to maintain consistent pressure and minimise adhesive residence time.

  • Match the reservoir to an appropriate valve and controller to ensure system compatibility.

  • Use the low-level alarm signal to integrate into your production control system or PLC for proactive adhesive management.

FAQs

Q1: What adhesive pack sizes does the RC32 support?
A1: It is compatible with standard LOCTITE adhesive bottles from 250 mL up to 2 kg, as well as 200 g squeeze tubes.
Q2: Does the reservoir include control for dispensing valves?
A2: No, the RC32 is a reservoir unit; it must be used with a compatible LOCTITE controller and dispense valve for full dispensing control.
Q3: What does the low-level sensor do?
A3: It detects when the adhesive bottle is nearly empty and sends a warning signal (to the controller or PLC) to avoid air entering the feed line and causing curing issues.
Q4: What environmental conditions are required?
A4: Operating ambient temperature should be between +10 °C and +40 °C (+50 °F to +104 °F), and supply air should be clean and dry.
